Fabric Softener

I have been using just white distilled vinegar as my fabric softener, which worked great but now I wanted more flavor. Just meaning pretty smells. :D

This is way easier then I thought and much cheaper then buying those fabric crystals from the store and I get to add what I want in it and something extra. Extra is what I really wanted. I wanted to add Tea Tree Oil to my softener to give it a anti ingredient to help with our germs. Its only the first day so I guess I have to write back and let you know how it goes.

What will you need:

  1. Magnesium sulfate, Epsom Salt ( I found my at Walmart for $1.54, or you can get it from the dollar store for a $1) Net Wt. 4 LBS
  2. 1 Jar or container  I went and got mine at Hobby Lobby, I went when glass is 50% off
  3. Essential oils:  Please keep in mind the oils at walmart are Not essential oils their just for candles and things like that. You can find these at a heath store like CVS or Walgreens or online. like amazon. I used
    1. Tea Tree essential oil (Bought here) Its a link to amazon, I bought a set so it would be cheaper, so you can get also the lavender oil and others for other home made things. (30 Drops)
    2. Lavender essential oil    (40 drops)
    3. Almond Oil: This is tricky, I brought it from a lady at my farmers market it here in New Bern, NC.   But she has an esty account that you can get this from. IT REALLY makes a difference. It smells SO GOOD!!!!!!!! But if she doesnt have it listed all you have to do is email her and she writes you back the same day. She is awesome. SealZiti-Natural soaps and scents  (20 Drops)
  4. Mix it all in a bowl
  5. Pour it in your jar and use  Use 1/2 cup for medium to large loads in the wash cycle at any temperature  and 1/4 cup for small loads.
  6. And your done! Enjoy!!!
This is the almond fragrance oil that I bought from SealZiti

Comment below it have any other ideas on what to put in your softener. I love trying new things.
