DIY Lip Gloss

Lip Gloss DIY
So this weekend after going on a Youtube frenzy, I came to a conclusion that maybe I can make Lip Gloss at home.

So their is simply way which I will show last and a Fancy way, which I am going to show you first! Now this one is my own and I didnt copy from any of the Youtube's I watched. Just ideas. Okay so here it goes. EEEEEEK! <---- me excited!

So this is the outcome! Pretty impressive huh! I did pat my back afterward :D

And these are all the products I used.

So this is how things went down!
  • The plastic case the lip gloss is in, cost me $0.97 at Walmart. The case came with 2 so even more of a deal, and there were 3 different colors to choose from.
  • Waxelene I bought on amazon for $7
  • Vitamin E bought at some health store here. But I have seen it at Rite Aid. But Its just vitamin E.
  • Avocado Oil also bought from amazon for $16
  • Arabian Sandalwood I got mine from an herb shop in Austin, TX. but I linked it up to an amazon seller. FYI I love the way it smells. Don't let the name fool you. I used it to mask any smell and its just soft
  • Crayons. Yup I used crayons, I have seen others use eye shadow but I know crayons on lead free and less toxin since its for kids.
Steps:

  1. I put a small pot of boiling water on the stove, then put a smaller bowl or glass item just to melt the items together. I guess I should of taken a picture of that huh. Lesson learned.
  2. Put 1 table spoon of Waxelene (if you don't have that you can use: Bee wax, coco butter, shea butter, and vaseline)
  3. Then I dropped in the crayon colors I wanted. I decided to be fancy and put tiny bits of purplish color here, a peach color there, and a pink.
  4. Start mixing it with a tooth pick to get it going it and you don't want to over cook your lip gloss. So if it gets to hot turn it down or take it off the stove.
  5. Then as the other stuff is melting I put (these parts i just winged it) Avocado oil in it. A say a good squeeze once.
  6. Poured 4 drops of Arabian sandalwood
  7. Few drops of Vitamin E. That stuff is just sticky!
  8. Mix it good.
  9. Pour it in your lip gloss container and don't move it after you pour it so it can set in perfect.
  10. Then pop it in the freezer, 5 to 8 mins later you have Lip gloss!!
I will try to post a video next week.

Any questions just let me know.

Fast quick lip gloss
For a quick way to make lip gloss just heat up 2 table spoons of vaseline and half a crayon of your choice. Mix it up, take it off the heat and pour your liquid lip gloss in its new container. Place it in the freezer for 8 mins and your lip gloss is ready. For Darker color on your lips put more crayon then vaseline.

Beginner Home School Mom

I am going to keep on doing updates, Check for them under "Beginner Home school Mom" Tab.

I am a beginner home school mommy. I have a 12 year old son, named Joshua Garza. He's in 7th grade if your trying to figure out the math. Looking for other learning ideas and materials besides books from the Teacher School here in Havelock, NC. I was able to find sites that are Free or Really cheap, because it turns out to buy the curriculums online cost over an arm and leg. I would have to throw in some toes too. So we have waiting till next year to jump into that debt, since we have decided to homeschool for 8th grade as well.
So let me jump in on what we are using now.
*Note this is not only for Middle School Students. Its an all around grade game. :D

Okay this one Free but you can only do so much, but I love it. I went ahead and paid for the month price of $6.  Its fun the parents can get involved and its all learning. From subjects Math, Reading, And Writing.
What I like as well, it makes the student want to play these learning games so they can upgrade to new levels and play with plays around the world. Now doesn't that sound cool!!
I have also set up challenges for my son to do so many questions to earn more coins. Each game you play you have the chance to earn a lot of coins which all go towards you upgrading and upgrading your avatar. A great part also is that you can keep track of your students learning, like a progress report.
This can also be used in Schools for Teachers and I think thats for FREE!

Here's a snap shot of the front page.

Heres a snapshot of their prices. Very Cheap! (right now since writing game is new its free, but only for a short time) <-- So GO NOW!!!
Last chance for free Writing Game

Now this is how it looks when a parent logs in.
And you can add more then one child

My avatar, and this is under parent log in where you can play the games as well and earn points to upgrade clothes and levels. I played a couple of times, and I felt bad at first playing with kids that were in middle school but I really wanted points for Pink hair. HAHA.

My sons Joshuas login and avatar, and isn't his avatar cute with his soccer outfit!!

So so worth it. But if you have any questions just let me know!

This one has free learning videos that we have watched sometimes. I haven't made the option to buy into this program yet. Im still up in the air with it. But my son did like the video that were on there for learning about subjects he needed help on. At the end of the video they can take a quiz to see how well they did. The Link above takes you to their free are on their site.

Looks like this.

And This Link Brainpop, is the regular login page.

The one below in orange is for K-3 its their jr page. Kind of cute.

When you go into pricing, you have a couple of categories to choose from. Here is a snapshot of it.

I am going to use the example of Home Schooling. This is the price and after doing this I remember why I haven't bought it yet.

I don't know if you can see the price in the bottom for 1 year and its $205. I guess its not bad for a whole year. BUT I am still going to hold off on it!.

Carpenters This Weekend

This weekend we decided we can make things out of wood. We had a big piece of thin wood in our shed in the back, but its always foggy in the morning and rains like a rain forest here that the wood had green mold powderish stuff all over it. It was so gross! But I wiped it down with Vinegar and waited till it dried and then we got to work.
My son has this mental rank in his room, but if you put anything on it, it just falls through the holes, so the boys decided to make shelves for it to make it more useful for his games and stuff that he thinks he needs.
So Joshua (my oldest 12) learned how to you a jig saw, and he was so excited. My husband Israel showed him how to measure the area and how to cut. I was pretty proud of Joshua of how focus he was on this project. Anyone who has an ADHD kid even on meds knows thats something. So here are some pictures.

Of course, what ever Dad and Big Brother is doing, Isaac is sure to copy

Keep in mind, it was kind of chilly outside!

Joshua learning how to measure

Now Joshua is going in for the kill, with his awesome TMNT Glasses

Our chickens came out to see what all the fuss was about. They have been hanging out in our front yard lately.

Poor Isaac hated the noise.

I mention it was cold outside right! Well my husband still was outside in shorts and sandals SMH, only my husband. The kids wanted to come out only in shorts and nothing else. I still control them, so I made them put clothes on.

They boys are still working on the finished products. It got way to cold today and now football is on. LOL, so I will post the new pictures of what they made.

Nature Walk

The weather was perfect today, in the 70's and a nice breeze. So off to a nature walk we go. Its quite easy since we live literally in a forest. National Forest of N.C. Croatan National Forest.
We live down a dead end street and its about 20 houses all together, and no traffic comes down here unless they live here. So its quit nice, and we have no street lights. So when the sun goes down it goes down! But its beautiful at night with all the stars and moonlight

 The entrance to our street

as you turn to get out of our street, you get to see this view

It goes like this for 4 miles, with some houses here and there, but their old school homes

We found a birds nest, with no eggs. Boo!

The sun came out for a moment

There are tons of trails, I think made for the hunters. I would love to go through them but Im scared of bugs, snakes, and things I can't see!

Boo! The sun went back in!

Hunters out looking for their dogs. They get lost at times, but usually go to the end of the road till they get picked up.

They thought it was important to let me know when they found their dogs :D

I swear there are so many different kids of trees in this forest.

This just looks so pretty, this one of course has a filter.

Without Filter

I love twisted Branches!

This mushroom came out awesome.
